About Sheila Lambert
Born in Macon, Georgia, Sheila M. Lambert originally moved to Asheville in 1971. She received her undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Georgia, working while in college to pay for her education. After working in Asheville during the 1970s, including as Director of the Easter Seals Society and also earning an MBA at night from Western Carolina University, she moved to New Orleans to attend Tulane University Law School.
At Tulane Law School, she was Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review, was a member of the Order of the Coif, the national scholastic society for top law students, and clerked for a major Wall Street law firm. In 1982, she graduated magna cum laude, sixth in her Tulane Law class. Following graduation she joined the prestigious New Orleans firm of Stone, Pigman, Walther, Wittman and Hutchinson, where she practiced securities defense, family law and civil litigation.
On returning to Asheville, she established her own law firm, the Law Offices of Sheila M. Lambert, in 1988. The firm provides professional, ethical and results-oriented legal services. Practice areas include family law (separation, divorce, custody, property settlement, alimony, child support, domestic violence protective orders and other matters), civil litigation and collections.
For a quarter of a century Sheila M. Lambert was in the BB&T Building, Asheville's tallest skyscraper. In 2016, the firm moved to the historic Jackson Building, Asheville's first skyscraper. The 1924 Neo-Gothic building with its spires and gargoyle-like grotesques on the corners is considered one of Asheville's most interesting buildings.
Sheila M. Lambert cares about her clients. She listens to you. Then she walks you through each step of your case, answering any questions you may have along the way. With Sheila M. Lambert representing you, you will feel comfortable, safe and confident.
In addition to her work as an attorney, Sheila M. Lambert is a potter with a studio in the River Arts District. Her work is on display at the Odyssey Co-Op Gallery. Active in her profession and in the community, she was the first (and is still the only) woman attorney from Asheville and Western North Carolina to be inducted into the NC Bar Association's General Practice Hall of Fame. She and her husband of more than 40 years have two adult children.
